Our vision
We are part of an international movement supporting people affected by cancer.
We effectively mobilize the public to help and solidarity with the patients. We are a widely chosen cancer foundation, both among patients and donors. The effects of our activities have a real impact on the Polish cancer care system, and our voice is strongly heard in the public debate.
We are financially and politically independent thanks to diversified fundraising activities and building long-term relationships with donors. Our employees are engaged, motivated and competent. We care about their development and satisfaction. We act professionally, cooperate with experts and effectively use our resources, experience, skills and knowledge.
We are strong with our values and mission.
Turning cancer into a treatable disease
We believe that one day, even advanced cancer will become completely treatable, just like cholera, the bubonic plague and many other, once deadly diseases.
Support oncology and health care
Alivia is engaged in advocacy activities, drawing the attention of decision-makers to the problems of oncology and encouraging the introduction of changes beneficial to cancer patients.
Educate, inform, represent
Knowledge turns the impossible into the possible. That's why we make sure to stay up to date and share the latest news from the world of oncology in an accessible way.
Provide practical tools for patients
We strive to provide patients with practical tools, so that they can boldly benefit from the achievements of global medicine and win against the disease every day.
Our history
The Alivia Cancer Foundation was established in 2010 in Warsaw, Poland, to help cancer patients fight for their lives. The Foundation was set up by Bartosz Poliński, Agata´s brother, after she was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer in 2007. At the time of the diagnosis, Agata was only 28 years old. For years the siblings were fighting with the disease, and an unfavourable health care system. That experience not only made them aware of the problems that patients encounter, but also taught them how to solve the difficult situations they faced. Alivia strives to share this specific know-how in order to help cancer patients effectively. This type of help is Alivia’s most important and distinguishing asset.
